It has taken an enormous amount of work to get to this point. Issues surrounding land registry, ground users, Council requirements and grant-awarding body requirements have meant that the process has taken a considerable amount of time, but it has been important to get everything right and ensure we have the strongest possible application.
That makes us even more pleased with how the designs have turned out. This development is fundamental to the future of our club and the wider sporting community on site.
It will provide our junior players and their parents with the quality facilities they deserve, give our men’s and women’s teams the opportunity to play back at their proper home, and provide much-needed welfare facilities for the other sports clubs based on site. Our local Primary School also uses the facility for football fixtures and sports events like Cross Country. Most importantly, it will create a welcoming, modern and inclusive environment where people of all ages and abilities can come together through sport.
We would really appreciate as many comments of support on the planning application as possible. If you are a player, parent, coach, volunteer, supporter, fellow club, or someone who believes in what grassroots sport can achieve, we would encourage you to take a few minutes to visit the planning portal and leave a comment in support of the application, expressing your own views on why this development would be positive for the club and local community.
Every comment genuinely helps demonstrate the strength of feeling behind this project and the difference these facilities could make.
It is already clear to see how much momentum our club has built, both on and off the pitch, but this development would take us to another level. We believe it would give us one of the best grassroots football facilities in the area, allowing us to offer football opportunities for everyone, supported by a modern clubhouse that is accessible and available to our club community.
This isn’t just about a building. It’s about investing in our children, supporting our adult teams, strengthening our community, creating opportunities for future generations and giving our club the facilities it needs to continue growing for years to come.
We have worked incredibly hard to get to this stage, and now we need everyone to get behind it. Please share the news, spread the word and, most importantly, leave a comment of support on the planning application if you can.
